Autumn Bucket List

Life starts all over again
when it gets crisp in the fall.
- F. Scott Fitzgerald -

Before I jump into this post
I wanted to let you know that I never heard from Janet,
the winner of Introducing Beebo.
So I have picked a new winner. . .
Mari from

In the blink of an eye autumn will be here.
Where did summer go, my friends?
I had so many dreams and plans to fulfill this summer,
but alas, I didn't get half of them accomplished.
Such is life, I suppose.
{{smiles}}
School will soon begin
{just 6 more days}
and the leaves will begin to change. . .

In anticipation for autumn I made this fun bucket list
for my son to do during the fall months.
Each little envelope has something fall-related tucked inside
and throughout the next couple of months
my son will randomly pick an envelope.

Here is how I made it. . .

First of all, I printed out 15 fall-related ideas.

Then I cut the ideas into strips
so that they would fit inside the envelopes.

Next were the paper envelopes. . .
The size of these are 3x4-inches
and as you can see I simply cut the corners off
to create a pointed center.

I folded up the bottoms
and applied just a teeny tiny bit of hot glue to the edges to seal.
And then I folded up the strips of paper and tucked them inside.

And finally,
I folded the top down and once again
applied the tiniest drop of hot glue to seal the envelope.

I attached the envelopes to a piece of card stock
which I placed in an 8x10-inch frame.
I wouldn' necessarily have used a black one
{a turquoise or burnt orange would have looked nice and "fallish"},
but it's what I had on hand and it met my needs.

I added rhinestones
onto the envelopes.

And on the bottom of the card stock
I glued on paper leaves, rhinestones, and paper flowers.
I wanted to add just a little "pop" of autumn.

And that's it!
I placed this frame in our home
where my son can randomly pick a fall activity.

Every leaf speaks bliss to me,
fluttering from the autumn tree.

And all at once
summer collapsed into fall.

What are some things you enjoy doing during the autumn season?
I would love to know so feel free to share in a comment.

Have a fabulous day, my friends!

Let's Go On A Jeep Adventure

Come away with me, my friends,
and let's take a jeep ride high into the mountains. . .
{Introducing Beebo giveaway winner announced at the end}

The road will lead us up, up and away
where the air is clean and oh-so-fresh.

We'll go through thick forests of Aspen trees. . .

and walk through grass
that is almost as tall as our hips.

We'll look down in the valley's below
and see beautiful lakes that are crystal clear. . .

and all the while we'll enjoy the pure beauty
of the many wildflowers dotting the mountainside.

As we climb higher into the mountains
we'll see more rugged terrain.

And look there!
Those white patches are snow.
{{smiles}}

Let's hop out of the jeep
and take a little walk. . .

As we come to the edge of the mountain
we'll see an abundance of red rocks.

Also, notice the pine trees. . .
since we are close to timberline the trees begin to fade away
and what does grow that high grows together.
It's like the trees have a support system.

I suppose we should probably turn around
and head back.

Down the trail we go. . .

You're probably thinking the adventure is coming to an end,
but that is not the case.
Look there!
Do you see what I see?
A sweet buck resting under a pine tree amongst the wildflowers.

Notice his antlers still have velvet on them.

And his hair is changing color
since he is getting ready for the colder months.

One last look at the sky
shows a beautiful opening in the clouds.
What a lovely way to end the adventure.

Thanks for joining us,
sweet friends!

I hope you enjoyed a taste of our mountains
and the views we are blessed with.

Love and hugs to you!

Fight The Good Fight With All Thy Might

Fight the good fight of faith,
lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called,
and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
- 1 Timothy 6:12 -

Fight the good fight with all thy might!
Christ is thy strength, and Christ thy right;
Lay hold on life, and it shall be
Thy joy and crown eternally.

Run the straight race through God’s good grace,
Lift up thine eyes, and seek His face;
Life with its way before us lies,
Christ is the path, and Christ the prize.

Cast care aside, lean on thy Guide;
His boundless mercy will provide;
Trust, and thy trusting soul shall prove
Christ is its life, and Christ its love.

Faint not nor fear, His arms are near,
He changeth not, and thou art dear;
Only believe, and thou shalt see
That Christ is all in all to thee.
- John S. B. Monsell -

When John Monsell wrote this hymn text,
he provided ten strong imperatives for a triumphant Christian life:

(1)
fight the good fight

(2)
lay hold of life

(3)
run the straight race

(4)
lift up thine eyes

(5)
 seek His face

(6)
cast care aside

(7)
lean on thy Guide

(8)
trust and prove

(9)
faint not nor fear

(10)
only believe

Each of these is worthy of further pondering.

Be strong and of a good courage,
fear not, nor be afraid of them:
for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee;
he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
- Deuteronomy 31:6 -

Have a beautiful and blessed Lord's Day!

Just A Little Giveaway

Greetings of love from me to you,
faithful friends and followers!
How are you on this beautiful Wednesday?
Well, I hope.

Today I have a sweet little giveaway just for you.
Madison Meadows, the author of Introducing Beebo,
contacted me a few weeks ago and graciously offered my readers
a chance to win one of her books.
And not only will one of you win this charming book,
but you will receive a signed copy!

Introducing Beebo is a precious story about a little bear
who learns the importance of being responsible
and getting things done in an orderly fashion.
Little Beebo might not enjoy having to clean his room before playtime,
but in the end he learns that being responsible leads to happiness
and a job well done is always a wonderful reward.

While this is a children's book it is a book that the entire family can enjoy.
I believe there are lessons throughout the story that all of us can learn from.
In fact, my 9-year-old son enjoyed reading this book to himself
and has done so several times.
Introducing Beebo is the perfect story for grandparents to read to their grandchildren
and for parents to read to their children.
And may I just say the illustrations of Beebo and his mother are darling!
You can't help but smile when reading this book.

This giveaway is open to everyone!
It does not matter whether you have a blog or not,
or whether you live in the states or another country,
please feel free to enter your name.

Simply leave a comment
and I will announce the winner
next Wednesday, August 23rd.

You can find Introducing Beebo on Amazon.
Click HERE to read more about the book
and to purchase a copy for yourself.

You can also find it on BAM! Books-A-Million.

I want to thank Madison Meadows for allowing me to read this sweet book
and for being so generous to my readers by offering a copy to give away.
I know whoever wins will be richly blessed by Introducing Beebo.

Have a splendid day, friends!
Love and hugs to you!

Come Unto Me, Ye Weary

Come unto me,
all ye that labour and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
- Matthew 11:28 -

"Come unto Me, ye weary,
And I will give you rest."
O blessed voice of Jesus,
Which comes to hearts oppressed!
It tells of benediction,
Of pardon, grace, and peace,
Of joy that hath no ending,
Of love that cannot cease.

"Come unto Me, ye wand'rers,
And I will give you light."
O loving voice of Jesus,
Which comes to cheer the night!
Our hearts were filled with sadness,
And we had lost our way;
But Thou hast brought us gladness
And songs at break of day.

"Come unto Me, ye fainting,
And I will give you life."
O cheering voice of Jesus,
Which comes to aid our strife!
The foe is stern and eager,
The fight is fierce and long;
But Thou hast made us mighty
And stronger than the strong.

"And whosoever cometh,
I will not cast him out."
O patient love of Jesus,
Which drives away our doubt,
Which, though we be unworthy
Of love so great and free,
Invites us very sinners
To come, dear Lord, to Thee!
- William Chatterton Dix -

I have read in Plato and Cicero sayings
that are very wise and very beautiful;
but I have never read in either of them:
"Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden."

- St. Augustine -

How sweet the name of Jesus sounds
in a believer's ear!
It soothes his sorrows, heals his wounds,
and drives away his fear.

It makes the wounded spirit whole
and calms the troubled breast;
'Tis nourishment to hungry souls,
and to the weary rest.

Weak is the effort of my heart,
and cold my warmest thought;
But when I see Thee as Thou art,
I'll praise Thee as I ought.
- John Newton -

Blessings and love to you
on this wonderful Lord's Day!
